Each year, Shan Bates, LLC selects a charitable organization to support on behalf of our clients—a tradition rooted in gratitude and in giving back to the community that supports our work all year long. This season, we chose Three Square Food Bank, a nonprofit that has been feeding Southern Nevada since 2007 and remains a lifeline for families facing food insecurity.

Recently, Shan sat down with Elizabeth Hunterton, Chief Development Officer at Three Square, to share why this partnership matters. Last year alone, Three Square distributed 49 million pounds of food through a network of more than 150 community partners. Their reach is wide, but the need is even wider: one in five children and one in six adults in Nevada experience food insecurity, unsure where their next meal will come from.

One of the most powerful reasons to support Three Square is its extraordinary buying power. Through large-scale purchasing and community donations, just $1 can provide approximately three meals. Even small contributions create meaningful change.
